Call for Submission from Fantasy Artists and Writers

We are looking for articles, short stories, adventures, and fantasy artwork for Talishar Products and Talishar Magazine. At first we want 120 articles and 50+ fantasy scenes and creatures. Articles can be new creatures, spells, items, lands, role-playing tips, design tips, ect. Short stories should be fantasy and set in the Realm of Talishar. All should be between 2,000 and 10,000 words. Adventures should be full length and stand alone. Artwork can be black and white or color. Solo Adventures for Talishar

I know I haven't updated this blog in sometime but I have not forgot about all of you but instead have been working on several different projects trying to get the final rules finished and posted on-line. As a result of working on the rules for the website I became inspired to design some adventures for the Talishar Role-Playing System but I wanted them to be something a little unique to Talishar. So I thought about how to make the adventures unique and it hit me. Talishar is fairly new and though there are some people out there who want to play they do not have a group or someone to be the Realm Master and so the first adventures will be for solo play. This means anyone can create a character and go on quests that are fun and exciting and not have to try and find a group to play. Now if you do have several people who want to play you can still play these adventures with or without a Realm Master and they will be just as challenging. In addition each adventure will introduce different creatures, racial traits, weapons, armor, skills, spells, and psionics that will allow you to expand your campaign. So look for the first of these Solo Adventures to become available.

Alignment in Talishar

The Talishar Role-Playing System is adding rules for alignment. In the Talishar Role-Playing System all characters have two sets of alignment: Law/Chaos and Good/Evil but it is not your traditional good/evil choice. Instead alignment is represented by a positive or negative number which represents what a character's overall alignment is. Positive numbers represent Law and Good while negative numbers represent Chaos and Evil. All characters start with 0 in both sets of alignment scores and the Realm Master awards positive or negative points for actions based on what they or their group feel is appropriate for their group or campaign.

In addition to representing the alignment of a character the numbers also have an effect in the game mechanics. Certain intelligent items or creatures from certain planes (such as the heavens or hells) know the alignment score and will react differently based on what those numbers are. As an example a minor magic item created by a good deity might work if a character has any positive Good/Evil score but a major magic item might only work if the Good/Evil score is 20, 50, 100, or more. The minor protection from evil spell might work on a creature with a Good/Evil score of -20 or more but the major protection from evil spell will work on creatures with any negative Good/Evil score.

In the end alignment is optional so feel free to use it how you wish or not use it at all.

Talishar License Agreement Update

I am happy to announce that several individuals and companies have contacted me requesting a licensing agreement to produce adventures and suppliments for the Talishar Role-Playing System. Currently the attorneys are drafting both types of agreements and as soon as they are finished we will send them out to those that have requested them. If anyone is interested in obtaining one or both licenses and have not contacted me please do. For those that have requested the license, once you receive and sign it please mail it back along with any information as to where distributors or players may purchase your products so that we can list it on our websites.

License Information

Due to increasing requests on aquiring a license for and or distributing products for the Talishar Role-Playing System I have added a page to the Realm of Talishar website with information about the licenses that are being offered. At present writers, game designers, and publishers are being offered two different licenses and can choose to aquire one or both.

The first license is for "Printing and Publishing Talishar Products." This license allows the publisher to purchase printing and distribution rights for products created by Miller J. Wilson or Gamers Palace, LLC. The publishers purchase a specific quantity to print of a specific product and are given a text only version of the product. The publishers are then free to add any artwork they have rights to and sell the product at a price of their choosing.

The second license is for "Publishing Talishar Role-Playing System Compatible Products." This license allows writers, game designers, and publishers to create, publish, and distribute any amount of their own products for the Talishar Role-Playing System for $5 US + 2% of the cover price of all products sold.

Realm of Talishar Character Sheet

With increasing interest in the Talishar Role-Playing System I have created a character sheet for players to use and posted it in a PDF file on the website. The character sheet has all the essential information that is required for play in an easy to use format and so should be helpful for any player. This character sheet will remain on the website free for anyone to use or download for non-commercial use. In the event of an update the new character sheet will be placed on-line in the same format and place. You can get the character sheet either by going to the talishar.com and clicking on the Character Sheet link, click on the Realm of Talishar Character Sheet link to your right, or click HERE. It is a PDF file so you will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader or another program capable reading PDF files.
